His. & Cl. Findings: Postmortem, also Red Congo Stain to determine presence of Amyloidosis
GROSS DESCRIPTION: The specimen consists of three (3) vials labeled :Liver", "Right Kidney" and "Left Kidney"
MICROSCOPIC DIAGNOSIS: 1) Both kidneys show moderate diffuse peracute renal tubular necrosis most likely an egonal change, glomeruli appear normal with no evidence of amyloid protein or other mineral deposits. 2) The liver shows postmortem decomposition, no evidence of inflammatory or neoplastic disease.
RESULTS of CONGO RED STAIN: Negative -- no evidence of Amyloidosis.
