Luke was a "daddy's boy" from the day he was whelped. He was the only one of a litter of five that would sit in my lap and be totally content to rest there until I had to move. He never asked to be released from the comfort of my affectionate attention. Even if there was a bitch in season,he was happy being with "daddy."
Luke stood 19 inches tall at the withers, measured 19 inches long from the withers to the rump, and weighed 52 pounds. Although he was a little leggy, Luke had beautifully clear eyes and a standard-perfect tail set.
Luke's puppies share his sweet disposition, clean movement, and classic head.
Luke died on Sunday, May 24, 1998, at the age of five years and nine months, 36 hours after suffering a ruptured esophagus from a stick lodged in his throat. A complete necropsy has been preformed and results can viewed from the Autopsies Page.
