Moses stood 18 inches tall at the withers and measured 18-1/2 inches from the withers to the rump. He weighed a hefty 54 pounds. He was heavy on bone with a nice topline and good movement coming and going. He was blocky in build, being very thick from side to side.
Moses took Best Puppy In Match ober 200 entries on the day he turned six months old. It took longer to finish him than it did the other two puppies I had entered in that match, but it was worth the effort and wait. He finished at the very tough January 1996 circuit in Florida.
Moses died of a heat stroke of Saturday, July 31, 1999, when the heat index soared to 122 degrees in Memphis. He was only out a short time but overheated when he engaged in one of his favorite activities--fence running. He died before anything could be done to rescue him from the stress that caused his collapse. Moses' complete necropsy can be viewed at the autopsy index.
Rest easy, my sweet Moses. Enjoy parting the rain puddles at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge. and when you see me coming up over the hill be sure to make a path for me so I can hold you once again and feel those wet kisses you give so freely.
